Help for Your
Vehicle’s Locks & Keys

When you call an automotive locksmith, start with whether the key is missing, locked inside, broken or no longer recognized by the vehicle. Include the year, make, model and parking location. Those details help us identify the right service and the key or equipment needed before arranging a visit.

For Houston drivers with no working key, car key replacement may involve cutting and programming as well as getting into the vehicle. If you still have a working key, ask about a spare. Some vehicles or faults require a dealer or repair shop; we check what we can support before promising mobile service.

Car Key Replacement

Lost or damaged car keys, including all-keys-lost options for supported vehicles.

Spare Car Keys & Duplication

Still have a working key? It is a good time to arrange a spare. We’ll check the right key, any cutting or programming and the functions you need it to perform.

Car Lockout Service

Keys on the seat, in the trunk or just out of reach? Call with your vehicle details and parking location. We’ll check the available entry service and explain what happens next.

Ignition & Stuck-Key Help

The key will not turn, will not come out or has broken in the ignition? Tell us exactly what it does. We’ll check whether the problem fits a supported locksmith service.

Broken Key Extraction

A key has snapped and part of it is still inside the lock? Tell us what it belongs to and what happened. We’ll explain the assessment and any work needed after removal.

A Key That Fits
Must Also Work With the Car

Getting into the car does not create a new key, and a blade that turns a lock may still need electronic programming to start the engine. A useful quote identifies each part of the job so you know what the finished key is expected to do.

Blade, chip or smart key?

A mechanical key works through the shape of its blade. A transponder key also carries an electronic identifier that the vehicle must recognize. A proximity or smart key can support keyless access and starting without inserting a traditional key.

These systems vary by year, model and equipment. Two remotes that look alike are not automatically interchangeable. Existing key markings and the vehicle details help identify the correct replacement.

A spare versus all keys lost

With a working key, the job starts by checking that key and the additional key you need. When every key is missing, access, key identification, cutting and electronic authorization may all be part of the work.

A quote should make clear whether it includes the key or fob, cutting, programming and a service-call charge. If a particular vehicle needs a dealer or repair-shop procedure, that should be established before a mobile visit is promised.

Check the finished key

A remote opening the doors does not by itself prove that the vehicle will start. Check the functions included in the agreed service: the blade where fitted, remote buttons, starting and any remaining keys.

For a key that turns but does not start the vehicle, explain that symptom rather than assuming the remote needs replacing. A key problem and a vehicle electrical or mechanical fault can require different help.

Automotive Locksmith FAQs

Can you make a key when I have no spare?

For supported vehicles, replacement may be possible without an existing key. We need the year, make, model, and your location to check the correct key and service. We’ll also explain the ownership documents required.

Can you program a key fob I bought online?

Call with the vehicle and fob details before scheduling. Compatibility matters, and a part bought online may not be suitable or programmable for your vehicle. We’ll explain the options before you spend more.

Do I have to tow the car?

We offer mobile service for supported jobs and come to the vehicle. Some faults or vehicle systems may need a dealer or repair shop. Tell us what is happening so we can help you work out the right next step.

What affects the price of a replacement key?

The vehicle, key type, parts, cutting, programming, and whether all keys are missing affect the work. Ask about any service-call charge when scheduling. Your locksmith confirms the work and price before you approve it.

How soon can someone get here?

We check availability for your address when you call. Traffic, technician location, and the equipment or key needed can affect the estimate. We do not promise the same arrival time for every job.

What information should I have ready about the vehicle?

Have the year, make, and model ready if you can. Let us know whether the key is lost, broken, locked inside, or no longer recognized. A parking-lot entrance, garage level, or nearby landmark also helps us find the vehicle.

What identification or authorization will I need?

We’ll explain what identification and proof of ownership or authorization the service requires. Keep any remaining keys available so the locksmith can check how they work with the replacement.
